The best day of any girl’s life is her wedding day. I know this because I had the immense pleasure of marrying the man of my dreams while feeling incredibly beautiful. The day was back in 2010, my family, friends and all who attended our I do’s are still talking about it even after all those years… Yes it was that amazing! Flawless from beginning to end, just magical. Ok, I’ll stop gushing and get to the looking good part! Here are my personal wedding day secrets:
To start, there are a few things I did prior to my wedding day that have helped me look and feel 100% radiant and ready to take on this day.
H2O is a must. You won’t look like a blushing bride if your skin is dry and dehydrated, so drink lots of water in the two weeks leading up to your wedding day to ensure your skin is glowing.
At least a full week before the big day, make sure you get at least 8 hours of sleep each night. Sleep will give you the energy you need, we all know how long a day this is and being tired will not only take a toll on you physically, but it will certainly be visible on your face.
Get a facial a week before not the day before. This is crucial! Facials often leave red spots and need time to heal. Keep that in mind when booking your appointments.
Trials for hair and makeup are very important. You need to more than envision your look for the day, you need to see it and love it. No trying anything new the day before, it’s always better to stick with your regular hair style and color in order to avoid last minute disasters. You will want to keep a haircut, color and makeup timeless, so that in 20 years from now you won’t regret your look in pictures and video. Whatever most identifies with you is the best way to go. A little makeup secret is to bring your favorite concealer or eye shadow that you wear every day so that you can look like yourself and not someone else if you’re not comfortable with new products. Your makeup artist will usually have no problem using the products that look best on you.
Relax! Find some time to reflect and meditate. Taking yoga classes will be a wonderful way to do some toning and self-reflecting.
It’s wedding makeup time!
For my wedding look, I went for classic, pure and romantic. In my opinion, a bride should look natural and radiant. In order to achieve my look I used the following products:
Pur Minerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup Foundation
LORAC Eye Shadow in Inspiration
YSL ROUGE VOLUPTE Silky Sensual Radiant Lipstick SPF 15 in Nude Beige
One last thing, make sure to enjoy every minute of it! It will be here before you know it and over before you know it. Keep smiling, you never know when your photo is being snapped!
